Web Notice and Data Protection Information
The protection of personal data is important to us. We collect, process, and use personal data only in compliance with the relevant data protection provisions (GDPR, DPA and DPO). Data processing is limited to the data that is actually required to provide a functional website and our content and services.
With this web notice and data protection information we would like to give you a brief overview about the type, scope, and purpose of the collection and processing of personal data within the websites and online offerings of the Liechtenstein Bankers Association. We also explain precautions we take to ensure the confidentiality of the transmitted data and the protection of your privacy.
We reserve the right to change this web notice and data protection information without prior notice in order to adapt it to revised legal requirements or to changes in our range of services or our data processing. Changes enter into effect upon publication on our website.
Contact with us and collection and use of personal data
Personal data is collected and processed regularly if you contact us through our contact form on the website or by e-mail. Beside such personal data provided by you our IT systems automatically record other data when you visit our website. This data comprises primarily technical information (e.g. web browser, operating system or time the site was accessed). We collect, process, and use personal data on our website for the following purposes:
- Performance of our services and membership benefits.
- If you contact us, the data will be stored for the purpose of processing the request and in the event of follow-up questions as an e-mail message and/or in the LBA's content management system (contact form data may be converted into an e-mail). The purpose results from the respective request.
- When documents are retrieved by our members via the LBA document manager, the IP address and user data are recorded.
- If contact data is collected on our online registration form for an event, it will be stored as part of event management and for future contact in connection with events.
- Sending information material, provided that the user has given us appropriate consent.
Some information is generated to guarantee the error free provision of the website. Other data may be used to analyse your user patterns. We do not disclose data that we receive via our website to third parties by transmission without your consent.
Collection of access data and web analysis
When you visit our website access and log data, especially your IP address – without attributing such data to a specific user or otherwise preparing a profile – is collected and stored automatically by the LBA's content management system (CMS). Such data collection is performed primarily with cookies and with what we refer to as analysis programme. The Website and the analysis programme are provided by SITEWALK Est., Im alten Riet 153, FL-9494 Schaan.
Visits are counted anonymously using a statistics tool.
The provider of this website and its pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser communicates to us automatically. The information comprises:
- the type and version of browser used
- the used operating system
- Referrer URL
- the hostname of the accessing computer
- the time of the server inquiry
- the IP address
The information shall only be temporarily stored on the basis of Art. 6 Sect. 1 lit. f GDPR. The storage is done for reasons of data security, for statistical analysis for the purpose of optimizing our website and to ensure the stability and operational safety of our system. The data is not merged with other data sources.
Our service provider is not in a position to identify you or to establish a connection with you personally. We have concluded an appropriate contract with the provider for order processing and obliged the provider to comply with the data protection provisions.
Contact form
If you submit inquiries to us via our contact form, the information provided in the contact form as well as any contact details provided therein will be stored by us. The processing of the data entered into the contact form occurs exclusively based on your consent (Art. 6 Sect. 1 lit. a GDPR).
The information you have entered into the contact form shall remain with us until you ask us to eradicate the data, revoke your consent to the archiving of data or if the purpose for which the information is being archived no longer exists (e.g. after we have concluded our response to your inquiry). This shall be without prejudice to any mandatory legal provisions – in particular retention periods.
Cookies
In some instances, our website and its pages use so-called cookies. Cookies do not cause any damage to your computer and do not contain viruses. The purpose of cookies is to make our website more user friendly, effective and more secure. Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer and stored by your browser.
Most of the cookies are automatically deleted after your leave our site. Other cookies will remain archived on your device until you delete them. These cookies enable us to recognise your browser the next time you visit our website.
You can adjust the settings of your browser to make sure that you are notified every time cookies are placed and to enable you to accept cookies only in specific cases or to exclude the acceptance of cookies for specific situations or in general and to activate the automatic deletion of cookies when you close your browser. If you deactivate cookies, the functions of this website may be limited.
Cookies that are required for the performance of the electronic communications transaction or to provide certain functions you want to use, are stored on the basis of Art. 6 Sect. 1 lit. f GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in storing cookies to ensure the technically error free and optimised provision of the services. If other cookies (e.g. cookies for the analysis of your browsing patterns) should be stored, you have the option to object to such analyses cookies or you can prevent their performance by not using certain tools.
Integration of third-party services and content and use of plugins
It is possible that third-party content, such as videos on YouTube, maps from Google Maps, or graphics from other websites, may be integrated into our website. This always requires that the providers of this content use the IP address of the users, given that without the IP address no content can be sent to the user's browser.
We are pleased if our readers follow us on Twitter or LinkedIn and if they recommend and discuss contents of bankenverband.li on these social networks. For that purpose we use social media buttons. By clicking on the corresponding button, you are redirected to the profile of the Liechtenstein Bankers Association. To share content from our website using social media channels such as LinkedIn or Twitter, a plugin must be installed on your device. By clicking on the icon, you agree to communication with the platform in question as well as transmission of information to the service provider. While you use Twitter and the "Re-Tweet" function, websites you visit are linked to your Twitter account and disclosed to other users. During this process, data are transferred to Twitter as well. We have no influence on the amount of data Twitter or LinkedIn collects using the plugin. We as well as the provider of the website and its pages also do not know anything about the content of the data transferred and the use of this information by the third-party service providers. To our knowledge, integration of the plugins allows the social network only to receive the IP address of the user and the information that a user has accessed the respective page (URL of the website in question). If the user is additionally logged in to the social network, the social network can attribute the visit to the user's account. You can then also use other functions of the social network (e.g. publish content of our pages to your LinkedIn profile).
The use of plugins is based on Art. 6 Sect. 1 lit. f GDPR. As soon as this social media function is accessed, the company in question is responsible for further data processing. Please refer to the guidelines and data protection policies of the selected service provider for information on how your data is used.
Newsletter Data
You have the possibility to subscibe to our newsletter on this website. To receive our newsletter, we need your e-mail address as well as information that allow us to verify that you are the holder of the e-mail address provided and consent to the receipt of the newsletter. No further data shall be collected or shall be collected only on a voluntary basis. We use such data only for the sending of the requested information and do not share such data with any third parties.
For subsciption to the newsletter the « double-op-in » process is used. You therefore will receive an e-mail to confirm the subscription to our newsletter by clicking on a confirmation link, before your data is added to the newsletter distribution list.
The processing of the information entered into the newsletter subscription form shall occur exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 Sect. 1 lit. a GDPR). You may revoke the consent you have given to the archiving of data, the e-mail address and the use of this information for the sending of the newsletter at any time by unsubscibing to the newsletter, for instance by clicking on the „Unsubscribe“ link in the newsletter. Moreover, you can also unsubscribe from the newsletter right on the website. This shall be without prejudice to the lawfulness of any data processings that have taken place to date.
The data submitted to us for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter will be stored by us or the newsletter service provider until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and deleted from the newsletter distribution list accordingly. Data stored for other purposes with us remain unaffected.
This website uses CleverReach for the sending of newsletters. The provider is the CleverReach GmbH & Co. KG, Mühlenstr. 43, 26180 Rastede, Germany. CleverReach is a service that can be used to organize and analyse the sending of newsletters. The data you have entered for the purpose of subscribing to our newsletter (e.g. e-mail address) are stored on servers of CleverReach in Germany or in Ireland. The website provider has entered into a GDPR data processing agreement with CleverReach and fully implements the data protection provisions on using CleverReach.
Newsletters sended out via CleverReach allow us to analyse the user patterns of our newsletter recipients. Among other things, it is possible to analyse how many recipients actually opened the newsletter e-mail and how often which link inside the newsletter has been clicked. With the assistance of a tool called Conversion Tracking, we can also determine whether an action that has been predefined in the newsletter actually occurred after the link was clicked. For more information on the data analysis services by CleverReach newsletters, please go to: https://www.cleverreach.com/en/features/reporting-tracking/.
The data processing by CleverReach is based on your consent (Art. 6 Sect. 1 lit. a GDPR). You may revoke any consent you have given at any time. If you do not want to permit an analysis by CleverReach, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter. We provide a link for you to do this in every newsletter message as well as on the website.
After the removal of your data from the newsletter distribution list, your e-mail address may still be stored by the newsletter service provider based on a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 Sect. 1 lit. f GDPR to prevent future mailings. For more details, please consult the Data Protection Provisions of CleverReach at: https://www.cleverreach.com/en/privacy-policy/.
Data retention
Please note that when you visit our website, the IP data of the user will be stored by the website operator. After the statistics have been compiled, the access data is cumulated and the information on the IP data deleted. In some cases, personal information such as the name and address of the website visitor may also be collected (if input masks are used).
In accordance with the provisions of data protection law, our website visitors are informed about every collection of personal data on the websites concerned. We collect, use, and process personal data to protect our legitimate interests or on the basis of your consent. Consent once given may be withdrawn at any time without formal requirements and with effect for the future. Subject to any other mandatory legal provisions, in particular retention periods, personal data provided to us via our website is stored only as long as necessary in relation to the purpose for which it was collected or otherwise processed. Personal data is used only in accordance with the purpose arising from the relevant page of our website on which the data is collected from you.
By using the latest security software as well as coding and encryption methods, our IT infrastructure complies with international security standards. For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, this website uses either an SSL or a TLS encryption programme. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the appearance of the key or lock icon in the browser line.
Moreover we take additional organisational and technical measures to ensure that the data managed by us is protected against accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or total loss, destruction, or access by unauthorised persons.
Regardless of the measures taken to protect your data, data protection and confidentiality in data processing via universally accessible media may sometimes be restricted. When using the internet as a transmission medium via computer, mobile phone, or other device, it cannot be ruled out, given the way the internet is designed, that third parties may gain access to your data and thus draw conclusions about your person or that personal data may flow into third countries without our intervention. We reject any liability for direct and indirect damages arising in connection with the use of our website or its contents.

In principle, you have the right of data access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, withdrawal of consent, and objection as well as the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority.
