The Liechtenstein Bankers Association has designed the series, «Deep-Dive» as a quarterly presentation and discussion round of current asset class themes.
The intent of the Deep Dive Series is to educate on a deep and practical level about the trending asset classes of our time in a non-product pitch environment. LBA has invited experts to lecture on the main aspects.
Blended Finance
Blended finance is the method to fund challenging projects by pooling both public and private funds. Are the challenges to blended finance transparent enough for institutional and private investors to participate? The Liechtenstein Bankers Association together with other partners will present its ideas and also discuss case studies. The financing of projects to accomplish the UN SDG’s through blended finance are sometimes the only options for higher risks projects but how can blended finance improve on the investment track record and success of billions of dollars invested over decades into development projects and where are the concrete results today?

The Infrastructure Dilemma
COVID showed the international challenge of supply chain. Is local production economically possible if the consumer will only accept Aldi prices? How does the infrastructure necessary for production and delivery across continents look like? How can the balance between infrastructure growth and environmental protection be balanced? The increase in natural disasters across the planet puts this balance question front and center. How is core infrastructure such as rail and pipelines able to handle and maintain networks as usage and demand increases. For much of the emerging and frontier markets, tourism is a key GDP factor but the emission challenge surrounding air travel are immense. What new solutions are on the immediate horizon.
