European Money Quiz 2026 in Brussels
The European Money Quiz 2026 brought together students from 30 European countries in Brussels to demonstrate their financial knowledge and exchange ideas on financial education. The competition is considered the largest European financial literacy initiative for young people aged 13 to 15 and is organised by the European Banking Federation (EBF).
A total of 60 students qualified for the European final in Brussels. Every year, more than 37,000 students worldwide take part in the national qualification quizzes. Each country is represented by only two students who qualify for the grand final in Brussels.
This year, Heinz and Tiziano from class 3a of Realschule Eschen travelled to Brussels to represent Liechtenstein at the European Money Quiz.
After arriving on Sunday, the programme already included a joint visit to the House of European History. The students gained exciting insights into European history as well as Europe’s social and political development.
On Monday, the participants enjoyed a varied programme including the official registration at the European Banking Federation (EBF) and a visit to the Wikifin Lab, where financial education was presented in an interactive and practical way.
On Tuesday, the grand final of the European Money Quiz finally took place, where the students were able to demonstrate their knowledge on topics such as saving, investing, cybersecurity, fraud prevention and the responsible handling of money.
This year’s European Money Quiz was won by Greece. Besides the competition itself, the event also focused strongly on the international exchange between young people from different European countries.
