European Cyber Security Month 2022
In October, the annual "European Cyber Security Month (ECSM)" will take place again. On the occasion of ECSM, European institutions, Europol, the European Banking Federation (EBF) and their partners from the public and private sectors in the EEA member states launch a joint awareness campaign on various topics related to "cyber scam".
The Liechtenstein Bankers Association (LBA) is actively participating in the initiative due to the importance of the topic for the financial industry. It is of particular concern to us to continuously inform and sensitize the public. For this reason, LBA is organizing a WEBINAR on the topic of "Cyber Security - Today and Tomorrow" on Friday, October 21, 2022, from 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 a.m. We would like to invite you to attend. Further details to be found under the registration link.
During the Cyber Security Month 2022, the focus will be on crypto investment scam as part of the "Cyber Scam Awareness Campaign."
Fraudsters create fake cryptocurrency trading platforms or fake versions of official crypto wallets to deceive investors. These fake websites usually have similar but slightly different domain names to the websites they are trying to imitate. Similarly, it happens that investment scammers claim that they can provide investors with high returns quickly and easily. But these crypto "investments" disappear directly into the scammer's wallet.
