Bank Frick awards new scholarship for blockchain course
Bank Frick has once again awarded a scholarship of 9,800 Swiss francs for the certified Blockchain and Fintech course at the University of Liechtenstein. According to a press release, Master’s student Sven Lagger from Göfis in Austria is the chosen recipient.
In his application, the scholarship recipient stood out for his strong prior knowledge of blockchain technologies. Lagger is studying for a Master of Science in Business Informatics at the University of Liechtenstein, and impressed with his understanding of the networked database systems.
The course, which the press release describes as «top-class» and is continuously revised, is well known far beyond Liechtenstein. It takes a hands-on approach to teaching in the field of technological redesign of existing financial systems. Students gain an excellent understanding of the networked systems and their impact on new business models and value creation networks. They are also given an overview of technological, legal and tax-related considerations.
Martin Angerer, Director of Studies for the Blockchain and FinTech certificate course and the MSc in Finance, describes the cooperation with Bank Frick as a successful model. «The large number of participants (...), high demand for the scholarship and for further projects impressively demonstrate the great relevance for the country, but also for the entire Rhine Valley region», he says. ce/heg
